How can I install parallels if I have vistal alredy installed with bootcamp
September 5th, 2010 at 8:53 pm
Parallels, vmware , and virtual box all run on Linux Ubuntu …
I use and I have ran 3DS Max , and Maya in them and it works just fine…

I have Bootcamp and Parallels. However, my Parallels will only start up if I disable NIVIDIA drivers, Uknown stuff, or Apple stuff. I am able to work with any application except any programs that need NIVIDIA drivers or videogames. So when I need to play games or use any program that need NIVIDIA drivers than i go to Bootcamp.

@Dryfdier I was wondering about this myself – autocad
September 5th, 2010 at 8:58 pm
if im gonna use Autocad and 3D max what would you recomend, bootcamp or parallels?
September 5th, 2010 at 9:30 pm
ah …
September 5th, 2010 at 10:20 pm
would I be able to run both?
September 5th, 2010 at 10:36 pm
Is it possible to download Parallels if you already Installed Windows on Bootcamp?
September 5th, 2010 at 11:00 pm
if windows 7 is installed with parallels on my mac is there a way to install it through bootcamp without uninstalling everything and reusing the windows key?

My MacBook Pro 13 Mid 2009 Intel 2.26 Processor model came with a 4GB Ddr3 1066 Spec memory, and recently upgraded to 8gb Ddr3 1333 memory.
The Mac Book system says the status of the Memory is OK.
But my Mac randomly freezes and especially if a higher memory is allocated to Virtual Machine Windows 7 on Parallels 5.
Is my Mac eligible to Run 1333 speed Memory and what is the solution.
Please comment…

Nice comparison. I actually prefer Bootcamp. I actually tried running Crysis under Parallels, and it was seriously lagging, so I went the Bootcamp route.

BootCamp runs XP on my macbook and i have to say that it is exactly like using any o’ll PC, you even get the Blue Screen of Death from time to time!
September 6th, 2010 at 1:18 am
hmmmmm….i chooseeee both!
September 6th, 2010 at 1:44 am
Parallels is basically… Mac OS X’s Virtual PC. if anyone remembers that, then yeah… it’s like the same shit except more powerful. I say BootCamp wins.

@Neanderthalcouzin oh wow, never thought of that. viruses using bootcamp, wow. I’m curious too…
September 6th, 2010 at 2:48 am
Is there a risk of getting all sorts of viruses using bootcamp?
I would like to load up XP on my Imac to play some PC games. I also don’t want to go online to register it, cos I could got viruses just doing that, I don’t plan on using the internet at all with the old XP I’d load up.
Any thoughts?
September 6th, 2010 at 3:22 am
correct, just go back into bootcamp again where you have a “Slider” to form the amount of partition you want to dedicate to XP and it will have remove or reset etc it’s as easy as that. I am getting a 500gB hard drive for my Mac Book so I will wait untill then. Windows seven sounds good but it’s very expensive to buy off the shelf!!!
September 6th, 2010 at 4:16 am
So what you are saying is you made a partition using bootcamp and then installed windows!!! you didn’t need the second CD that comes with the mac book pro to install the drivers on the windwos platform?. I have a Mac Book and NO cd’s with it and I want to put xp on using bootcamp but I always thought you need the second CD with all the drivers etc?. regards
September 6th, 2010 at 5:08 am
yep I did that jejeje put my foot in it up to the knee, good fun though and helps you learn things faster next time!!!!
September 6th, 2010 at 5:16 am
wait you can take it off and get all your space and memory that it took back rite?
September 6th, 2010 at 6:02 am
I have used both and I still have parallels in the original box, I used it once and took it off my mac pro as it slows windows XP down a hell of a lot. If i was you I would use boot camp which as you is pre installed with leopard that way when you use XP you are getting all the ram and Graphics card 100% not 25% as with parallels, if you have a windows CD at hand try the boot camp it works well and is very easy to take off if you don’t ike it. Regards.
September 6th, 2010 at 6:17 am
i have a macbook pro 15inch i just got it this past august 2009.
But whats better if i get the windows cd parallels or boot camp?
September 6th, 2010 at 6:35 am
@Playitallnightlong I have looked in Apple home page under support but it has for models around 2008 and mine is early 2009. When you look in the details of your macbook it will show the version number some are 2,9 3,2 etc and mine is 5,3 so I can’t see it anywhere but there must be “some” way of getting the drivers!!
