Navy Working Uniform (NWU) Instructional Video Part 1
This video will inform the viewer of how to properly wear the new Navy Working Uniform, (NWU), and how to utilize its components. I posted this video for people to be able to see the new Navy Working Uniform, and for people who are getting ready to go to boot camp to be ready for use of the NWU in boot camp. This video is property of the US Navy.

@rdscks well, enemy won’t spot blue in blue
April 24th, 2010 at 9:13 am
@rdscks its blue to camoflauge them to the ship from a distance so they dont stick out like a sore thumb
April 24th, 2010 at 9:16 am
I never heard of stuff getting in the boots from tucking in, but I’ve heard of bugs crawling up the bloused boots
April 24th, 2010 at 10:05 am
@Runawaybean but it might ride up for instance, if you climb over an obstacle like a fence, wall, etc. Tucking in doesn’t have that problem. It’s confusing which is better.

Man this guy has a deep voice
April 24th, 2010 at 10:15 am
@Soldier1287 Yes, Marines have to blouse their boots. If they don’t stay in place, it’s because they’re rolled too tight. Loosen them and they won’t ride up.
The main benefit of blousing them is that sand won’t get into your boot.

i think it looks cool except for the belt. the black one is ok but they shuld wear a riggers belt
April 24th, 2010 at 10:38 am
i heard from my frends whos in the coast guard said that wen salt water gets on it it turns orange so if u fall over they can see u. he also said marines r carrying spray bottles w salt water in themn n sprayin sailors on ships to fukc w them n turn em orange.
April 24th, 2010 at 11:07 am
Do marines have to blouse their boots ?
Or could they also tuck them in?
Cuz it gets on my nerves knowing that blousing doesn’t always stay in Place and it has a tendency to ride up.
While tucking in stays in place.

@rdscks
These BDU’s are almost identical to the Air Forces original new uniform design back in 2003. It was rejected and I see the Navy picked it up. Maybe the Navy can now boost their recruiting numbers now they don’t have such a gay uniform. Now they just need to get away from the 85 uniform combinations they have. When I was in the Air Force it was just BDU’s and rarely we wore our dress blues. That is it, two uniforms.
April 24th, 2010 at 11:47 am
this uniform is awsome but…is it just me or do you think the color pick to be wierd. like the navy obviously works in the water, which is blue. so if a sailor falls into the water, then it would be harder to find him, because his uniform is also blue. idk, just saying.

First off…The Marine Corps is a Dept. of the Navy. Nobody copied anybody. Marines use MCUU’s, Navy uses NWU, Army uses ACU and Air Force uses ACU. And On NWU, and MCUU, I know there is the ACE (emblem of the branch) printed every 13″ or so on different areas.
April 24th, 2010 at 12:45 pm
Square your cover away!
April 24th, 2010 at 12:58 pm
I cant stand nasty sailors who wanna place their cover in the sleeve of their cammie blouse. And they wonder why Marines clown the fuck out of us. Have some pride!
April 24th, 2010 at 12:59 pm
They are the same branch idiot…
April 24th, 2010 at 1:09 pm
wow, they copied the marines. same kind of design.
April 24th, 2010 at 2:09 pm
For an organization that is all about TRADITION, the Navy certainly cannot make up its mind on what to wear. With all these uniform changes the Navy is worse than a teenage girl trying to impress a boy; “hmmmm, should I wear slacks, cargo pants, overalls or a skirt ? should I wear a t-shirt, coveralls, or a button-up collared shirt ? Damnit, I don’t know, hell, I’ll just buy a new outfit.” Let’s go ‘Big Navy’ ! Pick a uniform and stick with it !!

I ship July 7th
April 24th, 2010 at 3:13 pm
That is such a sexy suit! cant wait until i join the navy when i turn 18
April 24th, 2010 at 4:12 pm
I ship out July 20th as an ABH
April 24th, 2010 at 5:07 pm
i know how u feel
April 24th, 2010 at 5:48 pm
@heresyof0ne Yeah but would you really rather wear utilities again? It is 10 times more comfortable and will last 10 times longer, plus no more looking like a prisoner.
April 24th, 2010 at 6:39 pm
my how times have changed i use to wear my cap in my cammie blouse all the time
April 24th, 2010 at 7:32 pm
i hate this new uniform it cost way to much money its 70 to 100 for the boots 60 for the top and bottom 6 for the blue shirt and 200 for the jacket and 10 for the hat and if you think about it, it does not make your seabag any smaller. if you are in the navy then you know where im coming from
April 24th, 2010 at 7:59 pm
A lot of things are getting upgrades, dress uniforms included… as for this one, it hasn’t completely phased out the everyday working utilities, so depending on where you end up after basic you’ll usually have the option to buy it later on. @emperor0989, the coveralls/command ballcaps will be around for a while… for one thing, NWUs turn blaze orange if they come into prolonged contact with saltwater so I doubt they’ll be used out at sea despite what the CMC at the beginning of the vid said.
